Firas Jawad Jaafar

Firas is a lecturer in Engineering Project Management at the Civil Engineering Department/ University of Technology, Iraq. He is also a member of the Iraqi Union of Engineers. Firas has great experience in construction management and the interaction between technical matters, risk management, financing and contractual arrangements.
This expertise has been gained through: an involvement in the delivery of four projects for a public client (University of Technology in Baghdad) and work as a resident engineer in a six-story building for an engineering college. Firas’s core research expertise is Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application to the construction industry. His research areas include BIM with risk and reliability analysis of engineering works and integrating BIM with safety management.
